THE SHEPHERD HUTS at Peters Meadow

Peters Meadow, in which the Shepherd Huts stand, is the name of the field recorded in the Cornworthy Tithe Apportionment of 1841 although at that time it did not belong to a person named Peter or Peters. There was a family called Peters living in the village at a much earlier date, but equally it could have been named after the forename of a tenant or member of the owning family.
